Louis Vuitton produced this type of canvas with red stripes from 1872 to 1876.

Restoring this well-damaged item was an interesting challenge.

There was 15 cm of canvas missing on the front, 3 slats on the bottom ...

The canvas appeared almost united, as 100 years of grime had attenuated it.

Once restored, the red is sharp, the brasses splendid.

The metal, all around the angles, was voluntarily left blank, so that the future owner would choose, if he wanted the metal such as or black.

This kind of trunk is sold to collectors. In general, they already have a monogram and a checkerboard.

It is one of the rarest fabrics in the Vuitton range
