The steamer trunk is representative of travel since it allowed a large storage of things to take on a trip
Imagine, a couple with two children were going on a trip with about fifty trunks.

The checkerboard fabric has its history too : It was born at Louis Vuitton in 1888, with the logo of the brand which allows a real differentiation from other trunk makers
