The stenciled monogrammed canvas was made from 1904, based on a coated canvas. The background in brown is complemented by the designs of the monogram. The monogram was created in the Louis Vuitton company, to differentiate itself from other trunk makers.
Starting from the designs of the bathroom tiles in the family house in Asnières, the monogram is created by adding the initials LV. The design is then applied to the canvas, with a stencil where each logo is created using a brush with stiff bristles. Imagine the working time that this can generate for the surface of the canvas of a trunk ... And the irregularities come from the work by hand, and this is what makes all the charm of the stenciled monogram.
The cabin trunk is easy to place at home. Indeed, it easily serves as a coffee table, possibly with a glass to protect from dirt.
