This magnificent curved steamer trunk, in dark green, reminds us of train journeys
The journey of the trunks tells us the whole story of the years 1850 to 1920. The curved trunks were manufactured in Alsace, Germany and Eastern Europe.
The bending was made with thin wood (poplar, since it "can bend"), about 5-8mm, in an oven: heat and water vapor
