Oak and leather chest (unique piece)
• creation of the barrel like a striped trunk
• but the stripe is made of luxury materials: oak and leather
• with its jewelry (lock, clasps, corners, loops ...) in solid brass
• and its padded interior in suede
The stripe inspiration corresponds to the canvases used by many trunk makers in the 1870s ’, to refer to trips to Deauville. Indeed, the half-timbering of the houses was vertical there, the trunk makers took up this graphic design, at the time.
Its format approaches the "courier" trunks, the carrier of the time. The history of this format takes us back to the era of train travel.
